Mika laughed. “Emotional overflow? Please.”
Day one: Ai packed Mika a bento. Rin challenged her to beat a high score. Mika thought, This is fine.
One rainy afternoon, she found a strange file on a forgotten forum: School Girlfriend Switch NSP XCI -Update- . The post said: “Installs a fully interactive partner into your system. Use with caution. May cause emotional overflow.”
Day three: Ai and Rin started arguing through notification pop-ups. “You stayed up too late with her,” Ai would type. “At least I make her laugh,” Rin would reply. Mika’s Switch overheated. So did her heart.
The climax came during the school festival. Mika’s console glitched mid-rhythm battle, and Ai and Rin merged into one entity: a girl named Neo with glasses and a streak, calm and sharp-tongued.
Mika smiled. “Maybe I don’t need to switch. Maybe I just need two save files.”
