In the distance, Naruto laughed—loud, bright, unstoppable—and Zero, for the first time, laughed too.
"I'm not here to fight," V-2 said. "I'm here to complete you."
Naruto smirked. "I never like anything you say before coffee."
"The Zero Code was flawed. It assumed jinchuriki were weapons that needed counters. But you proved otherwise. You befriended Kurama. You ended the cycle of hatred. So I ask you, Naruto Uzumaki—" V-2 removed their mask. Uzumaki Naruto -V.2- NZC
Underneath was a face almost identical to Naruto's, but older, wearier, scarred across the bridge of the nose. And the eyes—one blue, one red with a Mangekyo pattern he didn't recognize.
Shikamaru tapped the screen. An image appeared—a masked figure, lean and fast, with a tattered cloak and a single crimson eye glowing through a cracked ANBU mask. The symbol on their back wasn't a village insignia. It was a zero.
"Course I did. You're crashing my legacy. That's a declaration of war, y'know." "I never like anything you say before coffee
"You wanna know the truth?" Naruto said finally. "Yeah. Sometimes. Being Hokage isn't like I dreamed. It's paperwork, politics, and watching people I love get older while I stay... this." He gestured at himself. "Kurama's still with me, but even he gets tired. And some nights, I wonder if I was better as the loud kid nobody believed in. At least then, every victory felt earned."
"I'm already pumping chakra into them," Kurama growled in his mind. "They're synthetic. I can stabilize, but not for long. You need a seal."
"I'm not letting you die," Naruto said. "That's an order. From your older brother." You befriended Kurama
Sakura elbowed them both. "The village will be fine. The takeout budget, though..."
"I am your second version. Your V-2 . And I've come to ask you a question: When you became Hokage, did you ever feel... incomplete?"
"What's the Zero Code, Shikamaru?"
"I want... to be real."
"Shikamaru, I've been fighting that fight since I was twelve." Naruto cracked his knuckles. "Where do I find V-2?" The trail led to the ruins of Amegakure. Rain still fell there—eternal, artificial, mournful. Naruto came alone, despite Sakura's protests and Sasuke's cold glare (he'd returned, of course, and immediately become insufferable again).
