Then came the go-kart race. The Blur versus the Petrol Station Special . The grain on the screen seemed to thicken. For a single frame, between a shot of Alfalfa looking terrified and a shot of Spanky yelling, the image glitched. It flashed to a black-and-white still of the original 1930s cast—Farina in his floppy hat, Wheezer looking lost. It was there for less than a blink.
“Leo, why does his shirt look orange?” Maya asked. He scrolled past scanned texts of Victorian novels
The first: “My grandpa recorded this off TV before he passed. Uploading for memory. Enjoy, little rascals.”
Leo sighed. He had promised. After their dad showed them the old black-and-white Little Rascals shorts last week, Maya had become obsessed with the 1994 movie. The one with the go-kart race, the He-Man Woman Haters Club, and the little blond boy who talked like a 1930s gangster.
“Found it!” Leo whispered.
“Did you see that?” Maya asked, her voice small.
