The busboy, Luis (later named David), gets blamed and fired. Overcome with guilt, George tracks him down to help him find a new job, only to accidentally ruin his life further – including interrupting his marriage proposal. The busboy, Luis (later named David), gets blamed and fired
George: “This coffee is too hot.” Busboy: gets fired, loses girlfriend, apartment, life George: “I’ll just buy him lunch to make up for it.”
Elaine briefly dates a man who everyone (including strangers) mistakes for a famous murderer – though the show cleverly never names who.
This episode is peak early Seinfeld awkwardness. The George storyline is pure anxiety comedy – he means well, but every step makes things worse. Jerry’s B-plot (slow talker) is simple but hilarious. And Elaine’s subplot? A random guy who keeps getting mistaken for someone famous, but they never say who.
