Mak, oblivious in his happiness, sees nothing wrong. His friends, however, begin to hear terrifying rumors from the villagers: while Mak was away at war. She and the baby have been dead for months.
For the first time, Nak’s ghost cries tears of blood. Her monstrous form fades, revealing the beautiful woman she once was. She kisses Mak one last time — and then dissolves into golden light, finally at peace. Is that wrong
Mak breaks down. He realizes that by pretending she was alive, he was trapping her soul in agony. He finally says: "I love you, Nak. But you are not my wife anymore. You are dead. Go. Please go."
In a shocking mid-film reveal, Mak confesses to his friends: . He saw Nak’s decaying body in their bed and then watched as the ghostly Nak rose and pretended everything was normal.
