Gurudwara Abu Dhabi - Guru Nanak Darbar

In the heart of the UAE’s capital, amid soaring glass skyscrapers and bustling urban life, stands a serene architectural marvel that defies religious and cultural boundaries: Guru Nanak Darbar . Officially inaugurated in 2019, this is not just a place of worship for the Sikh community; it is a monumental symbol of interfaith harmony, generosity, and the UAE’s progressive vision of pluralism. As the largest Gurudwara in the Gulf region, it represents a historic milestone for the 50,000-strong Sikh community residing in the UAE. A Vision Realized: From Temporary Halls to a Grand Complex For decades, the Sikh community in Abu Dhabi gathered in modest converted villas and temporary spaces. The journey to a permanent, purpose-built Gurudwara began with a landmark decision in 2016, when the UAE government allocated a 7,500-square-meter plot of land in the Jebel Ali Village area (on the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai). The project was backed by the Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities, showcasing the UAE’s unique model of religious tolerance.

Whether you seek spiritual solace, architectural beauty, or simply a free, delicious meal in the company of strangers who become friends, this iconic landmark welcomes you with one word: Sat Sri Akal (God is the ultimate truth). Note: Always check the official Guru Nanak Darbar Abu Dhabi social media or website for updated timings during religious festivals or public holidays. guru nanak darbar gurudwara abu dhabi
