At night, Geet sneaks out to meet Anshuman on the phone. She asks Aditya to help her run away to Manali to meet Anshuman. Aditya agrees, partly because he has nothing to lose.
Aditya brings Geet back to her family in Bhatinda. He tells her family the truth about Anshuman. Her family forgives her. But Geet still feels broken. Aditya then decides to do for Geet what she did for him: he forces her to live again. On the train, he meets Geet Dhillon (Kareena Kapoor), a hyperactive, talkative, and free-spirited Sikh girl from Bhatinda, Punjab. Geet is running away from home to marry her boyfriend, Anshuman (a painter from Manali). She mistakes Aditya for a fellow passenger and chats non-stop, forcing him to listen to her life story.
